Having Christmas tree is really important during the Christmas holidays...Seeing it makes us feel so good and it reminds us that Christmas is already approaching...but sometimes the lights in the Christmas trees cause fire and to make our Holiday a safe and happy one, here are some Christmas tree or other electrical decorations tips:

1.) To prevent the tree from dying out, keep it in a stand that can hold water...Check the water level every other day...

2.) Burning candles on the tree is a fire hazard...

3.) Use UL approved extension cords and lights.

4.) To prevent electrical problems, look for frayed cords and do not overload electrical outlets or extension cords...

5.) Remember to turn out the lights when you are not at home or before going to bed...

Prevention is better than cure...We do not want to get ourselves hurt or our family, right?so,let us all be vigilant about fire prevention...Have a safe and happy holiday everyone!!!

Holiday Gifts

How to buy the right gift for the right person?Well, buying still another shirt as a gift can be tempting time saver, but ask yourself if it is what he/she really wants...I know it is really so hard to find gifts for the people we wanna give gifts to..In choosing gifts we have to make sure the gift is an appropriate one coming from you.Skip the intimate gifts for anyone who is not your spouse...Even then, ask yourself what message you will give your gift will give...A gift should have some meaning, and you should know what it is,that will keep you from justifying the white elephant...Give gift cards to people you do not know very well or to those who want them, thought they do not indicate a lot of thought, some people really like gift cards...Consider a gift that you and your significant other will both enjoy,it could be a new television, sofa or a family vacation...Remember to always give gifts from the heart no matter how small or big it is,just always remember that it is always the thought that counts...I hope that you all find what I shared today helpful...thank you again for dropping by and enjoy shopping and gift giving!!!

Food Safety Tips For This Holiday

Food is so important in our lives,we will not survive with out it but it could get us sick or worst kill us if we do not do the preparation right...We do not wanna get our family or ourselves get sick because of a dirty food or something, right? that is why I want to share these tips that we need to remember to food safety especially for this coming holiday where food has a really big role on celebrating it...Clean,Chill,Separate and Cook so that the foods served at holiday events are safe and wholesome...

Clean
: In the holiday rush, don't bypass hand washing and washing counter tops before preparing food. Always use clean utensils for preparation and serving.

Chill: Store food at proper temperatures. Perishable food, including party platters, meat, poultry, seafood, dairy products, eggs and cooked vegetables cannot be left out above refrigeration temperatures (40 degrees F).Bacteria grow quickly between 40 and 140 degrees F. Don’t store these foods in the garage or on the porch which may not be cold enough. "If the party lasts more than a couple of hours, remove foods from the table and put out fresh foods within two hours.Refrigerate leftovers promptly,"

Separate: Cross-contamination occurs when foods that are eaten raw, such as salads, fruits and vegetables or when cooked foods, become contaminated with bacteria from raw meat, poultry, seafood or their juices. Wash hands, cutting boards, utensils and dishes with hot soapy water if they have been in contact with raw meat, poultry or seafood. "Remember don't mix fresh foods with foods that have been on the buffet table Keep them separate,"

Cook: Using a thermometer is the best way to cook and reheat foods safely and to not over or under cook them.A quick response thermometer is the most versatile tool for checking foods in the oven, the microwave or on top of the stove.
