We used to have time warner cable and I thought they were the best cable company there was in town but that thinking changed when I visited my Aunt in Chicago. My Aunt got the Filipino channels she got it through direct tv which is really great. When I got back to Texas, I went to time warner cable's office and asked if they had the Filipino channels, I was really sad and disappointed when they said No, because I really missed being in the Philippines and watching tv shows from there helps me and makes me feel closer to home.
When my family and I moved to our new house, I have asked my husband if we could get directtv instead of time warner cable for our home tv entertainment, he knew how much I enjoyed watching my tv shows so he said "YES!" right away without any hesitations. We've had direct tv for more than two years now and I am really loving it, my day is not complete without watching my tv series and tv shows from back home that is why I am so thankful for the Filipino channels offered by direct tv. My husband and son enjoys their respective tv shows too, I am just so glad that Direct tv provides a great tv home entertainment for the whole family.

Guns and Roses
I am really happy that I have The Filipino Channel. Since I got my TFC, I have been addicted to soap operas. Abs-Cbn got a new tv series right now called Guns and Roses starring Robin Padilla, Bea Alonzo and Diether Ocampo.
Main cast
Robin Padilla as Abelardo/Abel Marasigan. Abel suffers a traumatic childhood when he witnesses his father being framed up by his fellow police officers, leading to his father’s mental break down. He vows revenge and he becomes a vigilante who fights for the rights of the hopeless.
Bea Alonzo as Regina/Reign Santana. An artist, receives a big blow in her life when her fiancé dies on the day of their wedding after helping out some victims of a hold-up outside the church. From then on she has become a cold, empty shell longing for the love she lost to a violent and unfortunate circumstance.
Diether Ocampo as Marcus Aguilar. He is the policeman in charge of investigating the death of Reign’s fiance’s death. As he gets closer to solving the case, he also could not help but fall for Reign’s beauty and charm.
Empress Schuck as Joni Dela Rocha. A sweet girl who will melt Onat’s hardened heart.
Ejay Falcon as Jonathan "Onat" Marasigan. Onat longs for a father figure in his life after their father was admitted to a mental institution. He finds solace is his older brother Abel but becomes very disappointed in him when he suddenly leaves their family.
I love this show...Thanks to wikipedia for the informations.

Manny Pacquiao Defeated Antonio Margarito

I would like to say Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao for bringing home the bacon again. It's not a surprised that Manny Pacquiao defeated another mexican boxer Antonio Margarito in a 12-round boxing fight this Saturday night at the Cowboys Stadium. Pacquiao grabbed his 8th championship title that put him to be the record holders and no other boxers had ever achieved that except from him.
Manny Pacquiao won a unanimous one-sided decision and achieved the World Boxing Council super welterweight title before 41,734 boxing fans in the said stadium. Pacquiao has won world titles at 112, 122, 126, 130, 135, 140, 147 and now 154 pounds.
Thanks Manny for making us all Filipino proud again! Mabuhay tayong lahat!

Mara Clara
The original Mara Clara was a big hit in 1992, I guess that is why Abs-Cbn made a re-make of this teleserye again.
Emil Cruz Jr.'s Mara Clara is a currently airing Philippine family primetime drama on ABS-CBN. The remake is based on the 1992 original television series of the same name. Kathryn Bernardo is set to take the role of the new Mara del Valle, while Julia Montes will be the new Clara David.
I make sure that I watch it everyday. The casts are all great actors/actress and I am really starting to love this show.

Imortal
Three hundred years ago, a group of powerful beings arrived in our shores. Known as vampires, drinkers of human blood, their menace quickly spread throughout the land. But unknown to them, a powerful clan also lived in the islands, a group of beings who can transform themselves into powerful wolves - the Taong Lobos. The Taong Lobos were the humans' protectors and they immediately formed an army to destroy the vampires. The blood drinkers were no match to the Taong Lobos. One by one, they fell. Those who survived were driven into hiding. What followed was peace among the humans and taong lobos, and the memory of the vampires started to fade. But the vampires are only lying in wait – organizing and fortifying their numbers until they are ready. They are holding a secret – a prophecy that foretells of an epic battle between them and the Taong Lobos that will finally decide the one blood that shall rule all. The battle shall be led by a powerful vampire and a powerful taong lobo who are each others nemesis and downfall. The vampires believe they have found their prophesied savior and now they are preparing to come out and start the war. The Taong Lobos have grown complacent, and they know nothing about the prophecy. With the stage set for an epic battle, two individuals, Mateo and Lia, find themselves drawn to each other, unsuspecting that as they grow closer together, they are awakening the powers that are lying dormant in both of them – the same powers that will inevitably tear them apart.
Thanks to wikipedia for these informations.

Alyna
Alyna is the newest offering of ABS-CBN’s Precious Hearts Romances presents.
It is topbilled by Shaina Magdayao. It is based on the Precious Heart Romances pocketbook by Martha Cecilia titled “Dominic.” Members of its cast include Jason Abalos and Sid Lucero. It premiered on September 20 on ABS-CBN Hapontastic but it is shown in the morning here in the States.
I watch Alyna everyday and the story's getting nicer and nicer everyday.
